I went to Ferguson's Cafe on Garland. It was purchased recently by what looks like a family - Mom, Dad, 2 young teenagers. The place was 3/4 full when we walked in.
LOUD! Clanking of dishes, silver, cooking. We couldn't carry on a conversation. The floor is tile that does not muffle anything.
Got water right away (in coke glasses with a handle that fit the motif), but then was ignored by the teenagers that were bringing clean dishes up and replacing supplies that were low.
We sat 20 minutes before one of the teenagers looked at us and discovered we had not been helped. Ordered our food (burgers and fries and special ordered no bun) and sat another 20 minutes. When the food came, the fries were missing, but the waiter explained they would be right out. They came soon after.
The food was great - big portions, hot and tasty. The price seems in line with other 50's-type diners in Spokane.
I would like to go back to see if they would have better service when it isn't so busy there, but I have no idea when that would be. It looks like they get steady customers all day.
