Should gays be allowed to donate blood?
Government revisiting restrictions on blood donations by gay men "Federal health officials announced Friday that they would reexamine a 27-year-old set of restrictions on blood donations by gay men.
The restrictions, enacted in the early years of the AIDS epidemic in the United States, impose a lifetime ban on men donating blood if they've had sex with another man at any time since 1977. "

I have a question... with all of the restrictions of what you can ask someone about them personally, the only way you would know someone's sexual orientation is if they volunteered it. How do you know we haven't received blood from them in all these years? With all the blood testing, Aids, Hepatitis, and several other diseases are found anyway.
