Did you know…..
The original Hillyard High had its beginning in 1907 on the second floor of the old Regal School at Rich and Regal, as part of the independent municipality's own school system.
In 1954, Rogers students constructed a masonry wall and marker at the grave of Minnie Bassett, the first all-white child born in Spokane Falls in January 1872. The project was led by E. T. Becher, who while at Rogers, pioneered teaching Northwest History in Spokane's schools. Rogers led the Way!
When Miss Patricia McKeirnan became principal of Rogers High school in 1978 she made "headlines" as the first female principal of a public high school in Spokane. Once again , Rogers led the way!
